Introduction

Aquila Drilling Co., LP is a private, independent oil and gas drilling company headquartered in Wichita Falls, Texas.  The company is the drilling subsidiary of Eagle Oil & Gas Company.  Eagle Oil & Gas Co. has been active in the exploration and production of the energy industry for over thirty years.  Eagle has a full time staff of thirty professionals and is dedicated to assisting Aquila Drilling in all aspects of its operations (see related website). Aquila has an office staff of eight professionals and over ninety full time operational personnel.

The company’s management team is comprised of David Fuchik, General Manager; Chad Stroud, Controller; Anna Johnson, Assistant Controller; Freddie Patrick, Maintenance Manager, David Ricks, Drilling Superintendent, Marvin Stuckey, HR & Safety Manager, and Mary Ybanez, HR Manager.

History

Upon Eagle’s entry into the Barnett Shale play in North Texas it found it difficult to obtain reliable drilling services on an ongoing basis, so in 2001, an Eagle subsidiary purchased two drilling rigs. In 2004 the supply of available rigs loosened, and these rigs were sold at a substantial profit. In early 2005, rig availability once again became tight and Eagle’s drilling subsidiary again acquired another rig. Rig # 3, a PARCO OIME S/L 7 capable of drilling to approximately 15,000 feet was purchased and refurbished and is presently drilling in West Texas. 

After the acquisition of Rig # 3 in early 2005, Eagle learned of an opportunity to purchase three high quality National 1320 UE rigs from a company in Mexico. These National 1320 UE 2000 horsepower rigs are capable of drilling to 22,000 feet. These rigs, Rig # 8, Rig # 10 and Rig # 12, were an excellent addition to Aquila’s fleet and are now deployed in East and West Texas.

In late 2005, the same seller of the Rig # 3 gave Aquila the opportunity to purchase a sister rig. Aquila executed on this opportunity and this rig, Rig # 4, was purchased in early December 2005. Rig 4 was refurbished and outfitted as a high quality diesel-electric rig.  Rig 4 is currently under contract working in the Haynesville Shale Play.

Aquila continues to be open to opportunities to grow as we provide premium equipment and crews for drilling services.

Aquila Drilling Company provides contract drilling services in all areas of Texas and Louisiana, including the Barnett Shale Play in the Fort Worth basin, the Cotton Valley Sand, and Cotton Valley Lime in Eastern Texas, the Spraberry field, the Penn Detrital Play and the Haley Play in West Texas.  In Louisiana, Aquila Drilling is currently drilling in the Haynesville Shale Play.

Aquila’s primary objective is to supply an Aquila rig for the opportunity to participate in your drilling ventures.  Aquila Drilling is committed to providing premium equipment and crews that will result in less downtime and higher productivity.  To support this objective, Aquila Drilling employs a Computerized Preventive Maintenance program and in-house mechanics to keep our drilling equipment in top operating condition.  All of Aquila’s Drilling rigs were refurbished before commencing their operations.

At Aquila Drilling, Safety is #1.  To support our commitment to Safety, Aquila Drilling employs a full time Safety Coordinator who performs safety training and rig site inspections.
